Jokes and Tears

Today was a tough day waking up to tragic news.  I had ideas about posting a corny video about my race but after watching the news of Las Vegas I wasn’t sure it was appropriate.  I am coming off a great week after an amazing Make-a-wish vacation and successfully completing my 1st TBD event for pediatric brain tumor families.  Then Vegas.  It is so hard to reconcile the immense and overwhelming goodness I have witnessed in the world, with what I see on the news some days.

I know so many kind, generous, phenomonaly wonderful people.  I also met some immensely kind and generous people as a part of Team Superstars as TBD. It is amazing how much good there is in the world.  But I know that some days its really hard to see that. Days like today after horrific mass shooting that affected hundreds of people, or like days after hurricanes and natural disasters that devastate tens of thousands, or days like the day your find out your kid is one of the 9 kids diagnosed with a brain tumor everyday. Days like those can make it hard to see the good. But if I could shine a light on you guys and make everyone see what I see, the dark days wouldn’t seem quite as heavy.  Everyone would know there are always people willing to help.  There are people that will stand with you in the dark. So please keep it up. Go out there and love. Love ferociously. I mean really love your ass off. Love everyone, extend grace, pick each other up. We all need it and someday you might need it to.

So with that I present a horribly corny video that is a bit too long about what we did for pediatric brain tumor families at Childrens MN.  It might be hard to laugh at anything today but maybe watching me make an idiot out of myself for 3 minutes will help remind you of better days.  Take care everyone.
