About TBD

Hi!  Totally Brain Dad here.  You may be wondering what the heck would possess a guy to construct a giant pink brain out of spray foam and wear it around town.  Well……..its a Dad thing.  In 2015 my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Since that time I have learned a lot of stuff I never really wanted to know.  Things like brain surgery is a real thing.  People (well neurosurgeons) will cut your noggin open, move stuff around, sew you back up and you can actually survive that.  I learned that the standard therapies of chemo and radiation often have devastating life long impacts on the children that must endure them.  Its not right and they deserve more.  But…….the good news is that we are on the verge of getting some new approaches to brain tumors.  Genetic testing, Immunotherapy, and a bunch of other science stuff are opening up better treatments for many children and we hope there is more to come very very soon.

I have gotten to know several brain tumor kids and their families.  They are strong and amazing and brave and resilient and….. amazing.  Seriously you should meet these people.  I have.  They are awesome.  They have become my people.  And Dads want go to bat for their people.  Dads want stand up for their people.  Dads want to protect and provide and be strong for their people.

Evidently some Dads want to build giant spray foam brains and make a website about it……for their people.

So my mission is to raise money for brain tumor kids and their families and hopefully spread some smiles while I do it.

Right now the plan seems to be me running around Minnesota with this brain contraption and sharing my favorite Dad jokes.

Jokes like —

What kind of fish performs brain surgery?

A neurosturgeon

Is the pool safe for diving?

It deep ends

I’m not addicted to brake fluid.

I can stop whenever I want.

Maybe I’ll come up with something better.  Maybe not.  Stick around and see what happens.

Thanks for being here.
